Meet our Founder
A global executive and C-suite leader, Alexia Maas serves as a guiding compass for forward-thinking enterprises and leverages a spirit of thoughtful inquiry and agile decision-making to carve an impactful path forward through change and ambiguity. She most recently served as general counsel and chief legal officer for Volvo Financial Services (VFS), a global financial services organization which - during her tenure - had $25B+ in managed assets and was regulated as a bank in 14 or the 48 countries in which it operated at the time.

Deep experience serving as a trusted adviser during high-profile global crises in highly regulated industries; building best-in-class legal departments, compliance programs and legal operations functions; and effectively managing risk in rapidly evolving regulatory, geo-political and technology landscapes are just a few of the strengths she is known and recognized for.

She is also loved by many for the deep caring side she shows for the people around her and how she devotes herself to developing and helping them reach new heights in their career and helping them to excel in their current and future roles.
Alexia's Story
Alexia’s legal career spans almost 30 years to date during which she spent most of her time working in highly regulated environments. A dual qualified lawyer (UK & US), Alexia has lived & worked in several countries around the world.

After 16 years in private practice with major international firms, Alexia moved in-house starting in the offshore Oil & Gas & upstream services sector. She joined the Volvo Group in 2013 and was promoted to Global GC of VFS a year later. Not long after, Alexia was also given responsibility for Enterprise & Cyber Security which she co-led successfully for 5 years. During her tenure at Volvo, Alexia led a global and diverse team of approximately 50 lawyers, compliance officers and IT professionals.

As a member of the C-Suite Executive Management Team, Alexia gained valuable experience in Transformation & Change Management; Business Development & Growth Strategies; Compliance & Risk Management; Crisis Management and People & Talent Development. Alexia quickly became renowned for her strong focus on execution and high impact & creative problem solving.
Often referred to by her clients as “The GC Whisperer™”, Alexia devotes some of her time now to acting as a mentor and consultant to GCs and other legal and business leaders.

Despite her previous hectic schedule as a C-Suite Executive, Alexia mastered how to recapture her own time & value and then introduced many of her methods to her team with equal success. To share her strategies with a much wider audience, Alexia has now authored a new book on this topic called “Stealing Back™ Time” which is due for publication in early 2025. She speaks regularly at conferences as a keynote and panel speaker and leads workshops on a variety of topics including helping other leaders learn how they, too, can beat the hidden thieves of time and recalibrate their work/life balance. Alexia says: “In our desire to do more with less, we often lose sight of what’s really important and by continuing to add things to our “to do” list, we lose control of our most precious resource: TIME. As the scope of our roles continues to expand, it becomes harder to identify the true priorities. Constantly doing more is easy. The hard part is finding ways to do less and still be productive where it counts. I help my clients, readers and colleagues find practical approaches to the challenges of today so they can recapture time and unlock their true value and potential.”
